we had our own version of the Station of the Cross, five of friends and myself decided to visit the 3 only catholic churches in Oslo by walking. We headed of to our first stop in Majosrtua Kirke... no one among us has ever been there and so to our suprise the chapel doors were closed except from the liltle gate opening to the side of the chapel's garden... we just went inside and decided to offer the our prayers in the garden amidst the old, big tree.
And off we walk to the second church in Gronland ( near the place i lived but never been there at all...), St. Harvard Kirke.
On our way, we have to the pass the Slotts Parken ( Palace Park) and we can't afford to miss poses for kodak moments...
It took almost a hour walk, including stop over atNarvesen Shop to grab some bites...
We got totally lost on our way to ST. Harvard.
When we saw the church, we were no longer suprised to saw that all the doors of the chapel were locked up too. So as we all expected we offered our prayers outside.
I felt a sudden gush of sadness in me, i know that behind the locked gates- lies different oppression of the churches in Norway... while, the whole country is enjoying a week long holiday , commemorating: Kjære Torsdag ( Holy Thursday), Lang Fredag (Long Friday), Påske(Easter Sunday) , and Påske Aften ( Holiday after Easter SUnday) ... but almost everyone are out of town to their Hytte (Summer Houses) relaxing. The week is no longer about Christ Passion and Death but a week of FREE DAYS-- Holiday time and Sunday is neither about Christ Resurrection but, about Easter Rabbit, Easter Roaster and Egg hunts!
After our visit we went to St. Olav to celebrate the Mass to commemorate institution of the EUcharist during the Passover Meal and washing of feet of the Apostles.
